Welcome to LINK Denmark!

About LINK

LINK was founded in 1973 to give English speaking women of many different nationalities living in Denmark the chance to meet socially. We organise a variety of programs covering a wide range of interests. Some events appeal to the entire family, for example picnics and seasonal parties. Others, such as coffee mornings - a regular feature - provide a good opportunity to relax and chat. There are cultural visits to help members learn more about Denmark and there are evening events as well, sometimes with husbands.

In addition to the general events, subgroups meet regularly throughout the year, including, tennis, diner's club, Danish conversation, French/English conversation, Permanent Residents, Mothers & Toddlers, and golf, to name but a few.

We currently have over 300 members, and we are always happy to welcome new members. We like to think we can help in the adjustment to a new country and environment and offer our members and their families an opportunity to learn and enjoy themselves during their time in Denmark.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is LINK?
The Ladies' International Network København is a voluntary network of women from countries all over the world who gather through LINK to build a social network. LINK is purely social and informal in nature - our aim is to aid members in developing their circle of friends and contacts through joint activities and shared interests.

Who can join LINK ?
Any non-Dane that would like to socialise with other international women, using English as the language of communication; or any Dane that has lived abroad and wishes to continue to make international friends and converse in English.

How do I join LINK ?
Send an application online using this form. We will then send you a recent LINK newsletter, together with a membership joining pack. Membership begins once we receive your payment.

Subscription to LINK costs Dkr300 per year. Membership renewal takes place each September. There is a reduced fee of Dkr175 if you join between March and September.

Please email the Membership Secretary if you have any questions about joining.

How can I join a subgroup?
All LINK members can join any subgroup that has their interest. There is no additional membership fee, although there may be some costs to cover expenses when taking part, i.e. the hiring of tennis courts, rental of videos, the hiring of the hall at Moms & Tots, etc. Simply contact the subgroup co-ordinator of the group you're interested in.

I didn't receive a newsletter this month - what should I do ?
First, if it's renewal time (September), check that you have paid your membership fee.

Second, check that, if you have moved, you have informed the Membership Secretary. You can e-mail the new information, or use this online form to do it.

Isn't LINK just for mothers with children?
No! Although Moms & Tots is a very large and active subgroup, in fact over one third of our members either have grown up children or none at all.

The Activities Committee try to organise different types of activities that cater to all tastes and all age groups.
