Book Club
The book for November is The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins. A scheming nobleman, a beautiful heiress, and, of course, a mysterious woman in white confined to an asylum for the insane are just a few of the unforgettable characters in this marvelous tale of mistaken identities, locked rooms, and surprise revelations. Widely regarded as the finest work of Wilkie Collins. This riveting tale has enthralled readers since it was first published more than 140 years ago.
Due to the popularity of Book Club, there is a morning group as well as an evening one. New members are very welcome to join us. Please see the LINK newsletter for details on joining in!
Bridge
The Bridge group meets weekly every Wednesday from 10am until 1pm; we play SAYC. We’re a very relaxed group that spends half an hour chatting & nibbling and rest of the time we play Bridge. It’s a great fun game and apparently keeps you mentally active into the very senior years! See the LINK newsletter for more information.
Slimmer's Support
We are a weekly group who meet up to weigh & measure in, then as a group swap top tips on weight loss and give each other moral support for food challenges. We’re not setting up in competition to Weight Watchers or any other diet advice group. We sometimes have a motivational speaker. On September 28th we are lucky enough to have Elaine Aunsbjerg Nielsen who is a qualified Psychotherapist and works with the psychological aspects of overweight e.g. the habits we have difficulty changing and supplying practical tips that can help. Also the unconscious reasons or habits that sabotage our efforts to lose weight. In October we have Victoria Christian who is coming along to give us advice on how to get the most out of weight loss by adding exercise to our daily routine. We meet every Wednesday at 09:30. Any size welcome.
