November in LINK
Guided Walk
There is no better way to learn more about the history of Denmark than by joining our Guided Walks! Our October walk has been rescheduled for November. This month, our City Guide Hanne Langkjær Øhlenschlæger will lead us on a visit to the fascinating Designmuseum Denmark at Bredgade 68. This is an extremely good museum, set in a historic building that used to be a hospital, in a very historic street in Copenhagen. Cost is 50 DKK per person, payable direct to Hanne on the day, plus admission fees of 60 DKK per person. (The admission fee will be reduced if there are more than 10 in our group.)
A Tour of the Opera House
Please join LINK for a tour of the Opera House (with brunch/lunch option) German Jura Gelb limestone, Sicilian Perlatino marble, Chinese granite, Canadian maple, and 105,000 sheets of 24 carat gold leaf make this 41,000 square meter, 1000+ rooms building one of Denmark’s largest and most innovative. Learn about such features as the custom ballet floor, the floating roof, and the subterranean rooms. We will enjoy a private room and a classic Danish brunch/XMAS lunch in a beautifully XMAS-decorated café that is part of the historic site Lille Mølle, the last standing windmill on the old ramparts of Christianshavn.
Monthly Meeting
Please join fellow LINK members for a lively discussion about “Housing Issues in Denmark” featuring Peter Hoyer with Scandia Housing. Bring your questions and concerns and leave with a better understanding of the Danish housing market. Expect to learn about security deposits/amounts returned, market pricing in Denmark vs other locations, Danish contract translation, tenant rights vs landlord rights, and other related issues. Share your own experiences and help others get settled with their families.
Coffee Evening
You are all very welcome to come to the November Coffee Evening, which will kindly be hosted this month by Murina Chan, at her home in the city.
