LINK - The Ladies' International Network København - is a women's group located in Copenhagen, Denmark. We are a network of expat women from countries all over the world who gather to build a social network. Our aim is to aid members in relocating to Copenhagen and developing their circle of friends and contacts through joint activities and shared interests.
 

What's Happening in July and August...

 

Funky Fridays
July
Friday 3 July 2009. Meeting time 19.30.
We are going to try 1105 (Kristen Bernikows Gade 4, Copenhagen K) once again, as our last attempt was changed last minute.
1105 is a stylish and elegant bar with a bartender who knows how to make a good drink, so please come along and join the girls for a night out in the center of the city.

Coffee Evening – July
The July coffee evening will be hosted by Brenda Happ at her home in Østerbro on Tuesday, 7 July from 7 to 9 pm. You are most welcome to come along whether you are a new lady to Denmark or an existing member.

Coffee Morning – August
The August coffee morning (10 am till 12 noon) will be hosted by Anja Lennon at her home in Hellerup on Tuesday, 11 August. Please RSVP to Anja anjalennon@gmx.net.

 

 

July/August Coffee Call


Coffee Call is a relaxed, no RSVP required, monthly meet up to try out new and favourite cafes around Copenhagen. It is open to all members and friends; just look out for the LINK flag on the table!

In July and August we will be meeting at Cafe Sommerhuset in Churchill Park, behind the Resistance Museum and opposite St. Alban's Church (Churchillparken 7, Copenhagen Ø, cafesommerhuset.dk). It is only open during the summer months, and ideal for summer holiday meet-ups, as children are very welcome and there is lots of space to play and toys available. 

Please note the unusual date for July, due to summer holiday. Thursday, 30 July, at 11.00.

We will also be meeting on Monday, 17 August at 10.30.

In September we will be meeting at Cafe Frontpage, www.cafefrontpage.dk. Details in the next Newsletter.

LINK Monthly Meeting
LINK will not be holding a monthly meeting during June or July but will resume in August 2009.

The August meeting will be held at Café Apoteket, Hellerup (opposite Hellerup Train Station and next to Copenhagen International School) on Tuesday 25th August from 12 noon. LINK member, Char McKay, will be speaking on ‘Cutting the cost of living in Denmark’. Something we can all relate to! Please RSVP to activities@linkdenmark.com so we have an idea of numbers. July at a Glance

Photo  Competition (Coming Soon)
LINK will again hold the annual photo competition in October so don’t forget to keep snapping pics of Denmark as you go on your travels and excursions this summer. Watch for more details later this summer.

 

Summer Highlights

Tour of the Island of Hven

Come tour the lovely island of Hven on Thursday, August 27th. The children will be in school and the weather should still be lovely for a day on our bikes visiting this small quaint paradise. No cars allowed, so all level of bikers can feel welcome! We will visit the home and laboratory/museum of Tycho Brahe as well as the many organic food venues to keep up our energy while cycling! We’ll depart from Nyhavn dock 39 at 9:15 on a ferry and return by 5:30 that same day. Return trip ferry tickets are 180DKK, bike tickets are 70DKK, although you can rent bicycles on Hven for 75DKK if you choose not to bring your own. An Ad-hoc reminder will be sent out in August, but pencil in the date now! More information is available at www.visithven.dk or www.hven.net

North Zealand LINK Sub Group

Thursday 16 July at 19:00 we will meet for a meal at La Trattoria Linetti, Badhusgatan 4, in Helsingborg, across the water in Sweden. There's the possibility to go on a guided walk around town in the afternoon for anyone wishing to do some sightseeing before dinner.

Family Fish and Chip Night

Children are very welcome LINK members we have been offered Fish and Chips for a knock down price of 80dkk – they are delicious too!
